As part of the Yahoo! Connected Life team, which focused on seamless experiences across multiple devices, I designed high-demand, localized, UI flows for the mobile search application.

As lead interaction designer I was responsible for managing and enhancing the mobile search application. Along with Google, it was the native search app on the iPhone which launched during my tenure at Yahoo! Our work provided the first mobile localized search results.
I developed customized results for high demand tasks (searching for flight times, sports scores and restaurants near you). Clusters of information were triggered based on the search query, location and design concept. For each scenario it was necessary to create separate designs for each device class.
Implementation-ready designs were put together using the pattern library.

To determine intention of the query we made a sequence of inferences based on current location, exact matches and subtle messaging.
UI Flow
For approval and implementation, I created specification which included page layouts, wireflows and page flows. In addition, I collaborated closely with the engineering team to QA the final implementation. Using a device library, I cross checked the designs to ensure the experience was optimized correctly.
